Apple Cider Sangria

The Idea:

This was the drink at our Cider House girls' night. The jello shots got the toast, but this is what everyone actually had in their hand all night. One detail worth stealing: every glass got a little paper apple on the stem with a name on it. Using construction paper, I cut out red apples, green leaves and brown stems. Glued them together then cut out the middle so they could be placed on the stem of a wine glass. I added everyone’s name in black pen to the edge of the apple. Cheapest place card there is, and nobody loses their drink!

What You Need:

Pour it all in! (Makes about 25 glasses)

  • 3 L Pinot Grigio (four standard bottles)

  • 4 cups apple cider

  • 2 cups caramel vodka

  • 2 cans ginger ale

  • 2–3 apples, sliced (a firm apple like honeycrisp is best)

  • 2 oranges, sliced

  • 2 cinnamon sticks

  • Cinnamon sugar or caramel sauce, for the rim of your glasses
