What area does Chesapeake Socials serve?

We are pleased to operate within a 45 minute drive of Dunkirk, MD. Yes, we do travel outside of this area for an additional fee.

What can I celebrate with Chesapeake Socials?

Birthday Parties (kids & adult!), Tea Parties, Bachelorette Parties, Baby Showers, Bridal Showers, Anniversaries, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, Proposals, Date Nights, Casual Brunches, Girls' Night...... but you don't need a special occasion to celebrate!

Can you help me propose?

Absolutely! We would be honored to help you with such an important moment in your life! Faux rose petals and marquee "MARRY ME" letters can be added to any theme for an additional $20.

Can I rent just the picnic table?

Sure! Tables (up to 8 guests) can be rented for $80 each. The tables fold and have removable legs so can easily be transported in most vehicles. We also offer picnics to-go with everything you'd need to setup your own luxury picnic!

Where can I host my picnic?

The choice is yours, but many are surprised to learn that the best place to host a picnic is in your own backyard! Backyard picnics provide easy access to food, restrooms, and cold drinks. There are also no time restrictions on private property and we can easily move the picnic inside if the weather requires it. All picnic locations must have level ground and be within 100 yards of a loading zone. We are happy to set-up at a reserved venue/location as long as the venue approves.

We have also partnered with Perigeaux Vineyards in St. Leonard or The Inn at Tacaro Estate in Tracys Landing! Other great options are Jefferson Patterson Park and Northeast Community Center.

Can you do a custom theme?

So glad you asked- Yes! For an additional charge we can incorporate any theme you have in mind.

What about children?

We love kids! All children 2 and under are welcome free of charge since they don't require a table setting. Children 3 and above will be delighted to sit with you at their very own table setting. Interested in a picnic party for children? Let's do it!

Can you accommodate guests that cannot sit on the ground?

We want everyone to feel comfortable at their Chesapeake Social! We can provide a 2 person table and chairs for individuals unable to sit on the ground for an additional cost. Or, if you have a preferred table and/or chairs, we are happy to incorporate our tablescape design with this option.

Does Chesapeake Socials provide food?

At this time, we do not offer food with our luxury picnics, which gives you flexibility to feed your guests whatever you please! We are thrilled to recommend some of our favorite vendors if you'd like some suggestions.

 

Grazing Gourmet Co has exquisite charcuterie boards and Sweet Poetry Cakery offers a variety of delicious desserts- if ordering from these vendors, we will pick up and bring to your event :)

What happens if there is bad weather?

We can plan the perfect picnic, but not the perfect weather! Luckily, our flexible booking policy allows you one opportunity to change your date, without penalty, up to 72 hours before your picnic.  Better yet, if you'd like to keep the date/time, we can set up a magical indoor picnic if you have the space. If it rains on your second date of choice and you do not choose to move inside you will be offered one final opportunity to reschedule a third date.  Unfortunately, we do NOT offer refunds and highly recommend you have a back-up indoor option.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you need to reschedule your picnic, we will work with you to find a new date and time based on availability. However, all cancellations and rescheduling must be made in writing 72 hours prior to your picnic date and time. 

Are there any restrictions?

We ask that you refrain from doing crafts such as painting or things with glue/glitter that could damage the tables and decor. Please be mindful when drinking your red wine or other foods/drinks that could stain. We also ask that you refrain from use of any open fire. You are responsible for the cost to clean/replace any items damaged during your picnic. 

What types of payment do you accept?

We currently accept payments in the form of cash, check (made out to Chesapeake Socials, LLC) or Zelle (chesapeakesocials@gmail.com).
