When Michelle from Oh My Darling Design asked me if I wanted to do a styled shoot together, the answer was immediately "yes!" Oh My Darling Design has the coolest retro camper that they've converted into a photobooth. It's such a great addition to weddings, birthdays or any celebration where you want your guests to have a special interactive moment.
We quickly came up with Palm Springs as our theme and from there the fun started. How could it not when you're dreaming up a California paradise?! Michelle & her business partner, Morgan, handled props (lounge chairs, pink bike, dalmation print umbrella, beach balls and picnic basket) and created a balloon garland to attach to Jenee, their camper! I was in charge of the picnic, duh. ;)
I knew I wanted this picnic to be flirty, a little groovy, and bright! I used bubble glass candle holders with swirly candles, TONS of citrusy and tropical fruits, and pops of vibrant florals with palm leaves. I stuck with a light pink for the table runner and chargers to keep with the classic/more upscale feel of Palm Springs. I found these adorable printed cloth napkins on Amazon that brought some funk and interest to the place settings, while not taking away from the fruit centerpiece.
My absolute favorite part of the tablescape were the clementine place cards. I inserted a toothpick into the flower stem and then right into the clementine. So simple and so impactful. Oh My Darling Design's logo includes a clementine which made it even more fun!
So what about those fabulous outfits? I'm glad you asked! Ally from the allycatwalk curated a collection just for this shoot. She nailed it. And we're lucky enough that she even agreed to model for us too. If anyone knows how to strike a pose, its Ally!
None of this would have been possible without our incredible photographer, Kristen, from One Girl Creates LLC. I'm used to documenting all of my designs and it was so refreshing to let go of the reigns and let a professional take over. I love the way she captured the scene!
