Garden Brunch

The Idea —

We’re using Bridgerton as our inspiration for this floral, frilly and fancy garden brunch! I love hosting this party in May as a way to celebrate Mother’s Day. Plus, the weather is just right for being outside. It’s not too hot yet, but warm enough to picnic!

How I Prepped —

This is one of those parties where you want to ask your friends and/or family for help! Some fun items that make the decor stand out are tea cups, floral tablecloths, cloth napkins, fancy serveware (the kind you got for your wedding!), and candles galore! I highly recommend florals of any sort to give the “garden” vibe! You can even get accessories like paper fans, parisols or lace gloves too. Fake flower petals on the ground are a pain to clean up, but they really make an impact visually! I hung paper lanterns from the trees too for extra ambiance. You can do as much or as little as you want/have the capacity for. Remember-your friends just want an excuse to get dressed up and spend time with you!

Before the party, I gathered some pens and paper so everyone could play along in a game where I played the instrumental/strings version of songs and players guessed which popular song it was. Sound easy, but some were challenging! The soundtrack is part of why Bridgerton is such a great show so I loved incorporating it into our brunch.

What We Ate —

I asked each of my friends to bring a brunch dish to share and here are some of the items from our fancy brunch menu:

  • bagel bar with lox

  • deviled eggs

  • fruit platter

  • quiche

  • salad

  • mimosas, coffee and tea

What You Need —

I will always recommend using what you already have, but these are some of the things I think will really accentuate the theme! Most of these items you could source from a thrift store!
